Data & Society is a research institute based in New York City that is focused on the social and cultural issues arising from data-centric technological development. Initiative for Freedom of Expression - Stakeholders

Initiative for Freedom of Expression is a Turkey-based association and movement of civil disobedience, working on the right to freedom of expression. It is a member of the global network IFEX

Since 2000, it publishes annual reports on the situation of freedom of expression in Turkey and distributes them among the main Non-Governmental Organizations, as well as to the media institutions. Every week, the Initiative publishes a Weekly Bulletin  in Turkish and in English. Since 1997, it organizes biennial "Gatherings for Freedom of Expression" in Istanbul. Together with other stakeholders, it created the ÇTL database (Current Trial Library), recording thought crime cases. It opened a virtual and interactive Museum of the Crimes of Thought

International Journal of Communication - Stakeholders

The International Journal of Communication  is an online, multi-media, academic journal published by USC Annenberg Press. As an interdisciplinary journal, IJoC is centered in communication and open to contributions from the many disciplines and approaches that meet at the crossroads that is communication study.

The Journal grants public access to articles, free of charge, at no charge to authors. Contents are available to all readers under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 license.

Established in 2006, the Institute is based at the Department of Politics and International Relations  at the University of Oxford . It brings the depth and rigour of academic scholarship of the highest standards to major issues of relevance to the world of news media. It is global in its perspective and in the content of its activities. Core funding for the Institute is provided by the Thomson Reuters Foundation .

The Open Society Foundation works since 1979 to build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people. The Open Society Foundation fund a range of programs around the world, from public health to education to business development.

It supports efforts that expand and protect press freedoms, increase public access to knowledge and information, include minority voices in media, and use the arts to address pressing social issues.

Global Forum for Media Development - Stakeholders

The Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD) is an international membership network of media assistance groups that highlights the importance of independent, pluralistic and sustainable media in social and economic development.

GFMD members share the common goal to foster free, professional and pluralistic media, leading to more open societies, greater transparency and enhanced freedom of expression by means of advocacy work, coordination, information sharing and research.

The Media Development Foundation (MDF), is a non-governmental organization based in Tbilisi (Georgia) aiming to support open and inclusive society, facilitating full integration of minorities, promoting gender equality, diversity and pluralism protect human rights, freedom of speech and expression by ensuring a free and professional media environment.

Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa (OBCT) - Stakeholders

Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa (OBCT) is a think tank launched in 2000 and based in Trento (Italy). It focuses on South-East Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus. Over time, OBCT expanded its scope and now reports on the socio-political and cultural developments of six EU member states, of seven countries taking part in the EU Enlargement process, and much of post-communist Europe, which is included in the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). 

In 2014, OBCT led the project Safety Net for European Journalists and since 2015 it is part of the European Center for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF ).
